L. Bee Affleck
I’m a writer of both kidlit and women’s fiction, and a proud member of SCBWI and WFWA. Across genres, my work explores identity, family, and the quiet moments that shape who we become.
For children, I write stories rooted in connection, wonder, and just enough mystery to spark curiosity. My projects range from The Sibling Squad, a middle grade mystery series about three siblings uncovering hometown secrets, to Robot Friend Stories, a hi-lo early reader series written in playful, decodable verse with SEL themes for new and neurodivergent readers, to whimsical picture books like The Marvelous House on Mortimer Street.
For adults, I write women’s fiction that digs into identity, resilience, and the things we don’t always say out loud. My current novel follows a woman breaking away from a strict religious upbringing as she begins to explore desire, shame, and self-worth on her own terms.
Based in Idaho, I balance my writing life with time outdoors—cycling, kayaking, fishing, camping, and gardening—or simply reading a good book.
At the heart of everything I write—whether for children or adults—is a commitment to emotional honesty, layered relationships, and stories that help readers feel just a little more seen.
